Job summary

UNTWN Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to aid in patient care on the unit under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The role includes performing basic care tasks, vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities include communicating patient information to the nurse, orienting patients to the unit, answering call lights, and maintaining a neat, stocked environment. 24 hours per week, non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of recent clinical experience or enrollment in a health-related program that covers nursing care assistant skills.
• PA Nursing Assistant Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care including hygiene, comfort, safety, nutrition and elimination.
• Take and communicate patient information; report to the nurse when needed.
• Orient patients to the unit and room on admission and ongoing.
• Answer call lights and perform rounds to meet patient/family needs.
• Document tasks per unit policies and procedures.
• Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness of equipment and areas.
• Perform in emergency situations and transport patients as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
