Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual, as-needed Patient Care Assistant to support the nursing team in the Virtual Integrated Care Department. The role includes direct and indirect non-professional nursing care under supervision, such as vital signs, charting, transporting patients, and assisting with daily living activities.

Candidates must provide documentation of an 80% or higher Medical Terminology exam score; a High School diploma or equivalent is required, with Medical Assistant

Qualifications

• 80% or higher score on Medical Terminology exam is required.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant degree or WV CNA license or PCT Certification required.
• CPR within 90 days of employment; Glucoscan within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing by performing patient care activities and direct/indirect non-professional tasks.
• Take vital signs, obtain lab specimens, and chart patient information.
• Escort patients and assist with activities of daily living.
• Handle clerical duties and manage ordering/receiving supplies.
