St. Elizabeth HealthCare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the 4D TCU Cardiac/Neuro Telemetry Step Down unit located at Edgewood Hospital in Kentucky. This full-time role is 36 hours per week, with 7P-7A shifts, offering growth opportunities.

You will provide direct and indirect patient care under RN/LPN supervision, perform daily living activities, and coordinate unit clerical tasks while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care focused on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma / GED.
• Ability to perform vital signs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics.
• General computer skills and applications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and maintains the clerical functions of a designated unit.
• Greet patients/visitors and answer calls, using customer service skills.
• Performs worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse tasks under supervision.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care under RN/LPN direction.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and maintains a safe, clean environment.

The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program.

• Utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patient/visitors and answering telephone.
• Demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• High school Diploma / GED

Specialized Knowledge:

• Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs

• Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics

• General computer skills and applications
