St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the Med Surg Unit at the Ft. Thomas Hospital. The role covers two day shifts, totaling 20 hours per week, with every-other weekend and holiday rotation groups.

The PCA will assist with basic patient care, clerical duties, and coordination under supervision, with on-the-job training and orientation to support professional growth.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Computer skills and willingness to learn health IT systems.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients/visitors and answer calls.
• Complete worklist tasks under supervision of licensed staff.
• Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN or LPN direction.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean environment.

Job Summary:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for our Med Surg Unit located within the Ft. Thomas Hospital.

Shift/Hours: This position consists of one 7:00AM to 7:00PM day shift and one 7:00AM to 3:00PM day shift, totaling 20 hours per week. The schedule includes every other weekend and participation in one of the holiday rotation groups.

Holiday Group 1: Easter, Independence Day (July 4), Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day.

Holiday Group 2: Memorial Day, Labor Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve.

The PCA is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the clerical functions and duties of a designated unit/program.

• Utilizes Customer Service skills when greeting patient/visitors and answering telephone.
• Demonstrates the ability to complete worklist tasks triggered by physician orders or nurse-generated tasks under the direct supervision of licensed nursing personnel.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of a RN or LPN.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group of patients.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• High school Diploma / GED

Specialized Knowledge:

• Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
• Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
• General computer skills and applications
