The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) II supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines. PCA II may also use critical thinking to elevate concerns as needed.

Responsibilities

Clinical

Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines. PCA II is also trained in EKGs, ostomy care, and obtaining urine specimens from a Foley catheter. Maintain patient confidentiality. 25%
