Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant to work with our team in the Oncology Department.

The position supports nursing by performing patient care activities, including taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, and assisting with activities of daily living under supervision. Applicants must meet an 80%+ Medical Terminology exam score and have the required diplomas or licenses.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Medical Assistant degree or WV CNA license or PCT Certification required.
• CPR within 90 days of employment.
• Glucoscan within 90 days of employment.
• 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care activities under nursing supervision.
• Take vital signs and obtain lab specimens.
• Chart patient information and assist with daily living activities.
• Escort patients and assist with clerical duties and supplies.

Skills

Applicants provide direct and indirect non-professional nursing careunder nursing or medical supervision.Primarily this includes but is not limited to performing duties such as cleaning, taking vital signs, obtaining lab specimens, charting, escorting patients, assisting with activities of daily living, managing clerical dutiesand ordering and receiving supplies.

To be considered, candidates must provide documentation of an 80%or higher score on the Medical Terminology exam.

• Medical Assistant degree or West Virginia C.N.A. license or PCT Certification required
• CPR within 90 days of employment
• Glucoscan within 90 days of employment
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
