The Patient Care Assistant provides basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical professionals, following current education and legal guidelines. The PCA maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and visitors.

Location: Cincinnati, OH, United States

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. STNA registry required for State Tested Nursing Assistant. Minimum 0-6 months of experience; preferred 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Patient Population (Clinical): Communicates appropriately, understands growth and development milestones, involves family, recognizes physical and psychological needs, performs treatments, and responds to signs of abuse or neglect.

• Patient Care: Measures vital signs, assists with ADLs, provides hygiene, changes linens, collects specimens, monitors intake/output, and assists with mobility and comfort measures.

• Communication: Reports observations, updates patients and visitors, documents treatments, and responds to communication systems.

• Environment: Maintains a clean and safe environment, reports issues, and stocks materials.

• Teamwork: Participates in patient admission, transfer, and discharge, demonstrating cooperation and respect.

• Safety Measures: Ensures call lights are accessible, uses proper identification and safety protocols, and employs proper body mechanics.
