Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, TX is seeking a Medical Surgical CNA to assist with patient care, mobility, feeding, and vital signs. You’ll support nurses by managing supplies, wound care under RN direction, and maintaining a clean, safe environment on a nights shift.

Full-time benefits include health/dental/vision, paid time off, and retirement options. Minimum CNA certification and BLS on hire, with hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs such as bathing, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with mobility and turning to prevent skin breakdown and assist feeding as needed.
• Take and record vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Stock and maintain supplies; keep patient areas clean and safe.
• Transport patients within the hospital as needed.

Location:Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX

We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA, also referred to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med-Surg CNA. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA, will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting

• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output

• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN

• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe

• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office preferred.

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
