Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support direct and non-direct patient care, clerical tasks, and unit duties in a fast-paced hospital setting. The PCA may function as a patient care observer for 1:1 monitoring and assist with telemetry-related activities in the Telemetry/CCU unit.

Responsibilities include multitasking and managing stress while applying medical terminology; CNA/PCT certification and nursing assistant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CNA/PCT certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• 6 months to 1 year nursing assistant experience required.
• 1–3 years secretarial experience preferred and healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to multitask and handle stress.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Demonstrated typing skills and computer experience.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
• Nursing assistant or medical assistant certification or nursing student actively enrolled with at least 6 months clinical experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and non-direct patient care duties, including routine patient care as well as clerical, supply and messenger duties.
• May function as a patient care observer to monitor patient safety in 1:1 situations.
• Complete arrhythmia course and maintain competency in telemetry monitoring in the Telemetry/CCU unit.
• Relate to patients with empathy and demonstrate strong communication with care team.
