Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II (PCA II) to support patient care activities on inpatient nursing units under RN supervision. The role requires basic medical terminology, communication and computer skills, plus relevant certifications and two years of related clinical experience.

Candidate must meet education and licensure requirements, and will work weekends/holidays with a flexible schedule. Proficiency in MS Word and typing is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Licenses & Certifications: CNA/MA/EMT-B with AHA-BLS; Aggression Management within 90 days; EKG or Phlebotomy competency within 6 months; other certificates as required by unit/service/clinic.
• Work Experience: Two (2) years related clinical experience (nursing program clinical rotations applicable).

Responsibilities

• Supports patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse on inpatient units.
• Performs patient care activities as delegated and adheres to patient safety measures.
