Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to support patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse in inpatient units. The PCA II collaborates with the charge nurse and staff nurses to ensure patient needs are met, performing delegated tasks while upholding patient safety and professional standards.

The role requires completing high school or GED with technical training, BLS certification, and relevant clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program.
• Aggression Management certification within 90 days of hire.
• EKG, and/or Phlebotomy competency validation required, as applicable to specialty area within 6 months of hire.
• Other certificates as required by unit/service/clinic.
• Two (2) years related clinical experience (experience in nursing program clinical rotations is applicable)
• Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)
• Personal Computer, MS Word, Typing

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Work closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to assure patient care needs are met.
• Perform patient care activities as delegated and adhere to patient safety measures.
• Demonstrate and model personal and professional effectiveness.
