Job summary

Harris Health in Houston is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to support patient care on inpatient units under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will work closely with the charge nurse and staff to ensure patient needs are met.

The PCA II performs delegated patient care activities and uses basic medical terminology, communication, organization and computer skills, modeling professionalism and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus appropriate technical skills.
• Two years related clinical experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• EKG and/or Phlebotomy competency within 6 months, as applicable.
• Aggression Management certification within 90 days of hire.
• Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities under supervision of a nurse.
• Assist with bedside care and communicate patient needs.
• Demonstrate personal and professional effectiveness with the team.
