Job summary

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus related technical skills, plus two years of clinical experience and relevant certifications such as BLS.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Two years related clinical experience (experience in nursing program clinical rotations is applicable)
• Basic Life Support from an AHA-certified program.
• Nursing students actively attending an accredited nursing program are exempt from certification if the first clinical/foundations course is completed.
• EKG and/or Phlebotomy competency validation required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities on inpatient nursing units under RN supervision.
• Collaborate with the charge nurse and staff nurses to ensure patient needs are met.
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic patient care, medical terminology, communication, organizational and computer skills.
• Model personal and professional effectiveness.
