Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to support patient care on inpatient units under the supervision of a registered nurse. The PCA II collaborates with the charge nurse and staff to ensure patient needs are met and adheres to safety measures.

Proficiency in basic patient care activities, medical terminology, communication, and computer skills is essential. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and two years of related clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years related clinical experience required.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required.
• Aggression Management certification within 90 days of hire.
• EKG and/or Phlebotomy competency validation within 6 months of hire.
• Other certificates as required by unit/service/clinic.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care activities under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Work closely with the charge nurse and staff nurses to assure patient care needs are met.
• Demonstrate proficiency in basic patient care activities, medical terminology, communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Model personal and professional effectiveness.
