Job summary

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking a patient care support role working under the direction of an RN. This position involves assisting with clinical tasks to promote a safe, compassionate patient environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma and healthcare experience. BLS and LNA certifications are preferred. The role involves standing, lifting, and daily patient interaction on a 40-hour schedule onsite.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience: 1-2 years required.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Nursing assistant or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care-related duties including vital signs, EKGs, bathing and ambulation assistance.
• Stock, equip, and clean patient rooms as volumes change.
• Collect specimens and document information.
• Operate and maintain equipment; report malfunctions.
• Document patient data such as height, weight, intake/output, glucose results.
• Assist with food tray setup and eating.
• Communicate with nursing staff about patient care and condition.
• Receive and direct medical staff, patients, visitors.
