CommonSpirit Health's St. Luke’s Health – Memorial Lufkin in East Texas seeks a Patient Care Assistant to comfort and assist patients with daily living activities. You will directly support patients, help with hygiene, mobility, and feeding, and back up nursing staff with essential tasks.

You will monitor vitals, assist with room preparation, document intake and output, and ensure safe, compassionate care. The role requires a high school diploma and CPR certification; hospital experience

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Job Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing or 1 year direct patient care experience
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
