Job summary

St. Joseph Health Madison Hospital in Madisonville, TX, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to help patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with daily living activities, hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while supporting RN staff with vital signs and room preparation.

You will perform tasks such as measuring intake and output, obtaining daily weights, and conducting blood glucose tests, with accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing or 1 year direct patient care experience required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR required within 14 days of hire.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Care Assistant, you’ll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.

Every day, you will directly support patients with tasks such as personal hygiene, mobility, and feeding, while also assisting nursing staff with vital sign monitoring and preparing patient rooms.

Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients’ conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well.

Pay Range

$16.06 - $22.69 /hour
