Job summary

Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic care on-site in Boston. You will assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs, while documenting in the medical record and relaying concerns to licensed staff.

Requires 1–2 years healthcare experience, High School Diploma, BLS, and strong communication skills. This is an on-site role with a 40-hour weekly schedule and salary range per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to multitask and handle stress crisis situations effectively.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Demonstrated typing skills and computer experience required.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to lift and transport patients using Safe Patient Handling Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
• Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
• Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
• Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them.
• Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
• Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
