Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital in Houston is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to perform routine and specialized patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Care will be delivered that incorporates Family Centered Care and is developmentally appropriate for the patient population.

We emphasize collaboration with RNs, accurate documentation, and a commitment to safety. A HS diploma or CNA program/com certification plus one year of direct patient care is expected.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal nursing assistant program or certification.
• BSN degree track with one clinical rotation completed at hire.
• One year of direct patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collection and documentation of patient/family data.
• Obtain and document vital signs and notify RN of abnormal findings.
• Provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care in collaboration with the RN.
• Collaborate with RNs to prioritize workload based on patient/family needs.
• Assist in identifying patient/family response to care.
• Provide input for the plan of care development and modification.
