Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to perform routine and specialized patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, delivering family-centered care that is cost-effective and developmentally appropriate for the patient population.

Responsibilities include collecting data, documenting vitals, collaborating with the RN to provide quality care, prioritizing workload, and assisting in developing and modifying the plan of care while maintaining professional

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a formal nursing assistant education program or CNA certification.
  • Currently enrolled in BSN with one clinical rotation completed at hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collection and documentation of patient/family data.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and notify RN of abnormal findings.
  • Provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care in collaboration with the RN.
  • Collaborate with multiple RNs to prioritize workload based on patient/family needs.
  • Assist in identifying patient/family response to care provided and contribute to care planning.
  • Support development of self and others; participate in team goals.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
