Job summary

The role emphasizes teamwork, accurate observation documentation, and responsive communication with registered nurses to support patient care. AHA CPR training and a high school diploma are required, with eligibility for nursing assistant programs

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trained and maintains proficiency in AHA CPR and patient care skills.
• One of the following criteria is required: State Tested Nursing Aide Training; Acute Medical Surgical Training or Hospital Specific Training.
• May be a student from an accredited RN program that has completed a medical surgical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic direct patient care as delegated by clinical staff.
• Accurately measure vital signs and document observations.
• Assist with activities of daily living and equipment handling.
• Support patient safety, comfort, and hygiene, including positioning and nutrition support.
• Communicate patient observations to RNs and participate in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
