Job summary

Prime Healthcare operates Holy Family Medical Center - LTACH in Des Plaines, IL, seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Telemetry/Stepdown unit. This full-time Days shift (12-hour) includes rotating weekends and holidays; you will assist patients with daily living, provide basic nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team.

Qualifications include CNA certification, BLS within 30 days, and preferred phlebotomy/EKG certifications; six months of acute care

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), State approved Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing care.
• Maintain a safe environment under supervision of the RN.
• Support telemetry/stepdown unit as part of patient care team.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications
