Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support patients with daily living activities and basic nursing care during the night shift. You will operate under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to maintain a safe and comfortable unit.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA certification, works with phlebotomy and EKG credentials if available, and has a general knowledge of medical terminology. BLS certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA certification, Illinois approved.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• EKG certification preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months' acute care hospital or physician’s office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care to patients.
• Maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.

Schedule: Night shift- 7pm-7:30am with rotating holidays and weekends

Facility: Holy Family Medical Center

Location: Des Plaines, IL 60602

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

• 1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Illinois approved Certification required.
• 3. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• 4. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• 5. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• 6. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• 7. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
