Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL, in the Telemetry department. This part-time, night-shift role includes 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends, assisting patients with daily living activities, and supporting RN supervision to maintain patient safety and comfort.

The ideal candidate has CNA certification, BLS, and related experience in acute care settings, plus knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification upon hire preferred.
• EKG certification upon hire preferred.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and kept current.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Minimum six months of experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• CNA certification required, state approved.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living and basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN.
• Maintains a safe environment on the unit.
• Supports the team with necessary tasks and patient comfort.

Job description

Overview

• Department: Telemetry
• Scheduled: Part-Time, Nights 12-Hour Shift/ Rotating Weekends
• Hospital: Resurrection Medical Center
• Location: Chicago, IL 60631

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. 1. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
2. 2. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
3. 3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
4. 4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
5. 5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
