Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide continuous observation and individualized patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The role involves one-to-one monitoring, basic patient care tasks, and accurate EPIC documentation in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide continuous, one-to-one observation for assigned patients.
• Provide evidence-based de-escalation interventions.
• Maintain a safe environment for patient, self and others.
• Remain alert to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Provide direct patient care such as vital signs and transports as delegated.
• Stock linens and supplies as needed.
• Document observations and interventions accurately in EPIC.
• Prioritize tasks for assigned patients efficiently.
• Alert nursing staff to distress or changes in condition.
• Maintain a calm, professional presence for patients and families.
• Follow hospital protocols and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
