Job summary

Pinnacle GI Partners is seeking a contingent Patient Care Assistant to support its surgical centers in the Troy and Macomb, MI areas. The role involves assisting in pre-op and recovery activities and maintaining clear communication with nursing staff.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED, medical field experience preferred, excellent communication, and strong HIPAA privacy awareness. Training is provided, with scheduling across MON-FRI, no nights or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to pre-op area and obtain initial information, vitals, urine samples, and prep status.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock in pre-op area and recover rooms; restock as needed.
• Escort patients to vehicles after discharge and assist in recovery room operations.
• Communicate information between recovery and pre-op staff as required.

Schedule: Varying Mon-Friday, no nights or weekends

Shift: General 8/hr shift with 7:00am start time. (Shift times will vary with facility schedule)

We are seeking a Contingent Patient Care Assistant for our surgical centers located in the Troy and Macomb, MI areas. Staff may be assigned to either location depending on facility schedules. We are willing to train candidates with applicable medical facility experience. and let's be partners in success!

Some of your responsibilities in this role will be:

Pre-op:

• To escort patients to pre-op area
• Obtains vital signs and urine specimens
• Obtains initial info re: driver, NPO status and prep results
• Terminally cleans pre-op rooms at end of the day
• Restocks area as needed

In Recovery Room:

• Escorts patients to their vehicles after discharge from the center (ambulatory or via wheelchair)
• Cleans stretchers and patient recovery room slots
• Communicates information between recovery and pre-op nurses, as needed

What are we looking for in a candidate?

• High School diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in the medical field is preferred
• Is always friendly and courteous with excellent communication skills
• Is an active listener who can respond to fellow employees/customers in a timely, competent manner
• Is able to distinguish emergency patient situations
• Presents a professional, caring image
• Is able to adapt and work independently and efficiently under pressure, with multiple interruptions and with a high degree of accuracy
• Exercises discretion and integrity in dealing with confidential information (complies with HIPAA privacy rules)
