Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in Honolulu seeks a Hospital Aide to support nursing staff in an inpatient unit under supervision. You will perform a variety of non-professional patient care duties and assist with data collection, admissions, discharges, and transfers.

Responsibilities include basic nursing skills, infection control, patient safety, maintaining records, and responding to emergencies per protocol. Requires Hospital Aide Training and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Experience or successful completion of training program in area of specialty.
• Hospital Aide Training Program or equivalent military training/education.
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reading, writing, speaking English.
• Ability to follow procedures and work under supervision.
• Mathematical ability, attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ongoing data collection; report changes to RN/LPN; implement care plan under supervision.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Demonstrates technical competence in basic nursing skills and use of simple equipment.
• Records data and nursing care activities in medical records per standards.
• Functions with awareness of safety, infection control, and patient/environment issues.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient/hospital information.
• Respond to emergencies and follow established protocols.
• Attends at least three Unit Staff Meetings.
