Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks a Hospital Aide to provide non-professional patient care in an inpatient setting under supervision. You will assist with admissions, data collection, and basic nursing tasks while upholding safety and infection control standards.

The role requires Basic Life Support certification and demonstrated communication and customer service skills; experience is preferred. Hospital Aide training or equivalent is expected for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience or successful completion of training program in area of specialty, if applicable.
• Hospital Aide Training Program or documented completion of equivalent military training course; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of requirements.
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ongoing data collection; identifies changes in patient status and reports changes to RN/LPN; implements care plan under direction of licensed staff.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Demonstrates technical competence in basic nursing skills and use of simple equipment.
• Records data and nursing care activities in medical record following Department/Unit/JCAHO standards.
• Functions with awareness of and applies safety principles and standards, including patient, environment and employee issues.
