Job summary

Allina Health is seeking an organized Health Unit Coordinator to support coordination of patient care with nursing and the multidisciplinary team in a hospital setting. You will assist with admissions, transfers, discharges and patient registration, while handling clerical duties and communicating patient care needs to staff.

The role involves front desk presence, basic rooming, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience to meet required competencies.
• Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
• Health Unit Coordinator program completion preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred if not certified.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties including admissions, transfers and discharge.
• Direct patients to point of care and schedule procedures.
• Enter patient data into EMR and communicate care needs to nursing staff.
• Answer phones and support front desk operations.
