Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic Pre-Services Specialist. You will handle inbound/outbound calls, schedule and pre-register patients in SMS and Cerner, and collect co-pays at pre-registration.

You’ll interpret managed care contracts and Medicare regulations to support accurate scheduling and registration. The role requires timely patient contact to obtain missing data, verify eligibility, and coordinate with hospital departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Customer-focused with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and pre-register patients; verify insurance; update Cerner/SMS systems.
• Contact physicians to resolve prior authorizations or referrals.
• Ensure Medicare compliance and complete related forms.
• Obtain missing patient demographics and collect patient payments as needed.
• Provide electronic eligibility verification and coordinate with care teams.
