Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Patient Accounting Representative I to perform assigned revenue cycle tasks, including billing, cash posting, collections and customer service within the CBO.

Under general direction, you will review and update patient accounts, resolve insurance and balance issues, communicate professionally with patients and carriers, and complete data entry and reporting to maintain accurate records. Schedule: Full-time, 8am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in Finance/Accounting, Customer Service or Healthcare.
• Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient accounting and revenue cycle tasks accurately and on time.
• Reviews, updates, and maintains patient accounts to support billing, payment posting, follow-up, collections, refunds, reporting, and account resolution.
• Communicates professionally with patients, insurance carriers, vendors, internal departments, and other customers to obtain information and support timely resolution.
• Reviews insurance coverage, payer requirements, claim status, account balances, denials, edits, and other account information to support billing, reimbursement, and compliance requirements.
• Completes data entry, documentation, scanning, indexing, reporting, reconciliation, and other administrative tasks.
