Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Billing Specialist to monitor daily activity and productivity and to serve as the primary resource for staff and patients with billing questions.

The role requires strong knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices, with emphasis on regulatory compliance, accuracy, and clear communication within a team. You will engage in daily billing workflows and provide guidance to newer staff.

Qualifications

• Billing experience is required or preferred
• Knowledge of medical billing and collection practices
• Familiarity with regulatory provisions related to debt collection
• Excellent English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Communicate status of billing responsibilities to Billing Supervisor on a regular basis
• Provide support and training to new employees in billing functions
• Monitor daily billing activity/productivity (timeliness of posting of charges/payments, collection of co-payments)
• Communicate identified problems promptly to ensure proper follow-up and payment
• Work accounts in assigned queues per department protocols
• Maintain daily reconciliation/balancing documents per protocol
