Job summary

Carle Health in Peoria, IL is seeking a Billing Specialist to monitor daily activity and productivity and serve as the primary resource for staff and patients with billing questions.

You will work with the Billing Supervisor, provide training to new employees, oversee posting of charges and payments, and ensure proper follow-up and payments in accordance with department protocols.

Responsibilities

• Billing Functions: Communicate status of billing responsibilities to Billing Supervisor on a regular basis.
• Provide support and training to new employees in the functions related to billing.
• Monitor daily billing activity/productivity (i.e., timeliness of posting of charges/payments, collection of co-payments, etc.).
• Share responsibility through timely communication of identified problems to assure proper follow-up is completed and ensure proper payment.
• Work accounts in assigned queues in accordance with the department protocols.
• Maintain daily reconciliation/balancing documents per protocol.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $17.76per hour - $28.77per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
