Job summary

Albany ENT & Allergy Services, PC is seeking a Patient Accounts Representative to manage patient accounts, payments, and self-pay encounters in a fast-paced medical office. This onsite, full-time role balances cash, posts payments, and liaises with the Allergy Department on immunotherapy billing policies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, medical billing experience, strong communication, and proficiency with EHR/PM software (NextGen preferred).

Responsibilities

• Balance cash and checks daily and deposit electronically.
• Take self-pay payments for the Allergy Department (SLIT).
• Post patient payments received by mail.
• Generate patient statements and answer questions about accounts.
• Create patient payment plans based on criteria.
• Manage credits and refunds on patient accounts.
• Contact patients about overdue balances via email, mail, or phone.
• Post unapplied payments to charges.
• Verify insurance on claims prior to processing.
