Mercyhealth in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Patient Access/Billing Specialist to support daily billing operations and patient communications. You will review accounts, arrange payment plans, and coordinate with physicians and insurance partners to resolve balances.

The role requires strong customer service, spreadsheet and billing-system skills, and the ability to handle sensitive financial discussions with patients and care teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of high school.
• Two to three years customer service and/or collections experience.
• Knowledge of reimbursement practices for commercial and government payers.
• Medical terminology desired.

Responsibilities

• Follow Mercyhealth financial policies and guidelines; understand collection laws and bad debt processes.
• Counsel patients on billing concerns, balances, services costs/estimates, and insurance resources.
• Establish payment plans and follow up on broken arrangements.
