Qualifications

• High School or equivalent.
• One year of collection, customer service in a collection or healthcare environment.
• Basic PC experience, 10-key calculator, keyboarding, and use of other office machines such as copier, fax, etc.
• Knowledge of third-party payers - Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance.
• Outstanding people skills, including telephone technique, personal appearance, organization skills, communicable skills (oral and written), independent and self-motivated, flexible, analytic and arithmetic skills, negotiation skills, problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all account follow-up including communication with all parties who may have a bearing on account resolution.
• The financial counselor will visit with patients or family members and assist them in answering any questions or concerns they may have regarding billing and payment issues.
