Job summary

Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest is seeking a detail-oriented Collections Associate to support its Billing & Collections Department. You will help ensure timely, accurate processing of patient accounts through essential administrative tasks in a collaborative healthcare setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and strong attention to detail, organization, and communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in administrative, clerical, billing, collections, or healthcare office is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and post payments accurately to patient accounts.
• Assist with lockbox processing and reconciliation activities.
• Prepare and respond to billing and collections correspondence.
• Coordinate and process patient refund requests.
• Manage incoming and outgoing department mail.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to patient accounts.
• Support billing and collections staff with administrative and clerical tasks.
• Assist with special projects and other departmental duties as assigned.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and patient confidentiality requirements.
