Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Patient Financial Representative to interview patients and arrange payment methods. You will monitor monthly payments, post payments, process insurance claims, and track accounts receivable.

You’ll also register inpatient consults and coordinate pre-visit copay collections and daily cash/check deposits. Handling denials and missing payments, you’ll work with aging receivables and ensure accurate documentation across patient charts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in physician billing: charge entry, claims processing, payment posting, appeals/resubmission, and follow-up.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to arrange methods of payment or extension of credit, notes decision in patient's charts.
• Monitors monthly payments/collections, submits pre-authorizations, insurance claims, and monitors payments and accounts receivable.
• Registers inpatient consults and pre-visit registration for copay collections and daily deposit of cash/check payments; entering insurance and patient’s payments received via mail.
• Pursues insurance missing payments and insurance denials.
