Job summary

RKM Primary Care in Clinton, LA is seeking a qualified Billing & Registration Specialist to join our open-access, patient-centered health system. You will manage accounts, collect payments, and support our front desk with billing inquiries.

The role requires 3–5 years in medical billing, knowledge of CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS, and strong communication to coordinate with patients and staff. We offer competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates or BS in Medical Billing & Coding; AHIMA/AAPC preferred.
• 3–5 years in patient registration, billing, coding and claims reconciliation.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding.
• Strong communication with coworkers and patients.
• Understanding of Medicare/Medicaid and other third-party programs.
• Ability to compile, analyze and report on accounts.

Responsibilities

• Contact patients by phone, email or mail to review account details and review balances.
• Answer billing department and front desk questions about patient accounts.
• Receive and post payments by phone, portal or batches.
• Post payments from commercially billed clients and refunds to charts.
• Run unapplied credit reports and recommend write-offs or adjustments.
• Add lab charges to cash-pay patients and coordinate with lab billing.
• Document all account activity in the EHR (bankruptcy notices, payment plans, etc.).
