Job summary

CentraState Healthcare System, headquartered in Freehold, New Jersey, is seeking a Patient Accounts Associate to support the Patient Financial Services department. The role focuses on billing, adjustments, and collections to ensure timely payment and accurate patient accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 1 year of clerical experience, and proficiency with Word and Excel, with preferred familiarity with ICD9/CPT coding and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year clerical experience and knowledge of Word and Excel required.
• Previous experience in medical financial setting with ICD9 and CPT coding preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Submit bills electronically or manually promptly and follow proper procedure.
• Make correct adjustments to bills per established procedure and contract.
• Perform follow-up for payment to insurance companies as appropriate.
• Bill patients for deductibles, co-pays and self-pay accurately.
• Document all tasks per established procedure.
