The Department of Patient Access is seeking a full-time, remote Patient Benefits Advisor 2. The role involves ensuring patients have adequate insurance coverage, advising on coverage gaps, and facilitating payment arrangements.

Core Responsibilities
  • Greet individuals professionally and warmly via phone or in person.
  • Coordinate with scheduling to arrange appointments when prior authorizations are pending or denied.
  • Assist with inquiries regarding accounts, pre-certification, eligibility, estimates, and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of patient information.
  • Obtain and document prior authorizations before services are received.
  • Contact physician offices for missing patient information.
  • Use patient estimate tools and insurance contacts to determine out-of-pocket costs and generate estimate letters.
  • Update patient accounts with accurate insurance information.
  • Submit insurance referral documentation promptly.
  • Follow university policies and safeguard assets.
