Job summary

Ultipro in the United States is seeking a detail-oriented Re-authorization Specialist to support durable medical equipment coverage re-authorization. You will review records, coordinate with patients and providers, and assist in the appeals process to resolve denials.

Responsibilities include obtaining required documents, maintaining communications with sales and clinical staff, and ensuring timely submissions while adhering to regulatory billing policies.

Qualifications

• Learns and maintains knowledge of current patient database and billing system.
• Ability to understand re-authorization requirements.
• General knowledge of government, regulatory billing and compliance regulations/policies for Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Commercial Insurance & Medicaid.
• Medical Terminology background.
• Enough knowledge of policies and procedures to accurately answer questions from internal and external customers.
• Utilizes initiative; maintains set level of productivity goals with ability to consistently and accurately

Responsibilities

• Obtain re-authorization requirements for ongoing DME coverage.
• Review and obtain compliance documents, medical records and prescriptions for re-authorization.
• Assist patients through the re-authorization process.
• Coordinate with sales and clinical staff to facilitate re-authorization tasks.
• Review and work pending re-authorization tasks daily.
• Assist in the appeals process for denied re-authorization.
• Travel to provider offices to obtain records for re-authorization as needed.
• Notify teams regarding non-compliance and re-authorization deadlines.
• Establish good communication with coworkers for patient benefit.
• Perform other clerical tasks such as answering phones, faxing, and emailing.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Communicate with Manager/Supervisor and report concerns to Regional Sales Manager.
