Job summary

Sleep Management, LLC dba Viemed is seeking a Patient Authorization Coordinator to manage re-authorization for durable medical equipment. You will gather documents, coordinate with patients, clinicians and insurers, and submit re-authorizations.

The role requires knowledge of billing regulations (Medicare/Medicaid), strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work with sales and clinical staff to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current patient database and billing system.
• Understanding of re-authorization requirements.
• General knowledge of government, regulatory billing and compliance for Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Commercial Insurance & Medicaid.
• Medical Terminology background.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures to answer questions from internal and external customers.
• Maintains productivity goals with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Obtain re-authorization requirements for ongoing DME coverage.
• Review and obtain compliance docs, medical records, and prescriptions for re-authorization.
• Assist patients in the re-authorization process.
• Coordinate re-authorization tasks with sales and clinical staff.
• Process pending re-authorization tasks daily.
• Assist in appeals for denied re-authorization.
