Job summary

Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL seeks a Behavioral Health Sitter for day shift, full-time hours 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. The role provides bedside presence to ensure patient safety and comfort, remaining with the patient unless relieved by staff.

You will calm and orient agitated patients, remove hazards, and record observations. Preferred credentials include BLS and CPI; minimum education is a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of applicable experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

Required Credential(s):

• None Required.

Preferred Credential(s):

• BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention, credentialed by the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)

Education
