Job summary

Women’s Health Arizona is seeking a Patient Accounts Receivable & Support Specialist to handle patient billing inquiries, balances, refunds, and account questions. This role provides frontline financial support, documents interactions, and escalates complex issues per policy.

The position requires 2–4 years in patient AR or related fields, proficiency with Athena Collector, and bilingual English/Spanish communication. Strong customer service and HIPAA-compliant practices are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in patient accounts receivable, billing, refunds, or patient financial services
• Experience in a medical group or multisite healthcare environment is a plus
• Proficiency with Athena Collector, including payment posting, refunds processing, and AR workflows
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required
• Strong customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patient billing questions via phone or portal messages.
• Document all patient interactions, actions taken, and next steps in billing/case management systems.
• Assist patients with balances, refunds, and payment plan options.
• Process routine refunds in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with clinics, revenue cycle, and other teams to resolve account questions.
