Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is hiring a Patient Ambassador to support meal delivery, nutrient protocols, and supply tasks in a patient-focused role. The position works part-time with rotating weekends and holidays and requires a high school diploma and Food Handler certification within 90 days of hire.

You will assist with meal orders in CBORD, stock patient support areas, and help prepare delivery carts and related items in a collaborative Mercy team environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver and recover patient meals to designated patient rooms or nursing units.
• Assist with meal order entry via CBORD software following dietary protocols.
• Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies in patient support areas.
• Assist with make-ready responsibilities for patient meal supplies such as delivery carts and related tabletop items.
• Perform duties in alignment with Mercy mission, values and Service Standards.

Under the direct supervision of the Patient Food Services Manager, the Patient Ambassador provides patient focused support services within a multidisciplinary scope, including food and nutrition services, linen, laundry services, housekeeping, and supply management. The Patient Ambassador facilitates the delivery and recovery of patient meals to designated patient rooms or the nursing unit as directed. Assists with meal order entry via the CBORD software program while following dietary protocols and regulations for ordered diets. Assists with the inventory and stocking of supplies in patient support areas. Assists with make-ready responsibilities for patient meal supplies such as delivery carts and related tabletop items. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
