Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, Missouri, is seeking a Patient Ambassador to provide patient-focused support across nutrition, linen, housekeeping, and supply services. The part‑time role involves delivering meals, assisting with meal orders in CBORD, stocking supplies, and preparing delivery carts according to dietary protocols.

You will work with a caring team, on rotating weekends/holidays, and contribute to Mercy’s mission and service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Handlers certification within 90 days of hire.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Interest in learning new skills and growing in the department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and recover patient meals to designated patient rooms or nursing units.
• Assist with meal order entry via the CBORD software program following dietary protocols.
• Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies in patient support areas.
• Make-ready responsibilities for patient meal supplies such as delivery carts and related tabletop items.

Under the direct supervision of the Patient Food Services Manager, the Patient Ambassador provides patient focused support services within a multidisciplinary scope, including food and nutrition services, linen, laundry services, housekeeping, and supply management. The Patient Ambassador facilitates the delivery and recovery of patient meals to designated patient rooms or the nursing unit as directed. Assists with meal order entry via the CBORD software program while following dietary protocols and regulations for ordered diets. Assists with the inventory and stocking of supplies in patient support areas. Assists with make-ready responsibilities for patient meal supplies such as delivery carts and related tabletop items. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
