Qualifications

• 0-2 years admissions/customer service/public relations experience required
• 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Registers patients accurately in the registration system and collects signatures on consent forms
• Verifies insurance coverage and applies plan codes for correct billing
• Explains ABNs and financial documents to patients and families
• Counsels self-pay patients on costs, payment options, and resources
• Logs and secures patient valuables during admission
• Places patient armbands for accurate identification
• Reads physician orders to determine appropriate registration steps
• Notifies departments and physicians of arrivals and follows up on delays
• Assists with bed assignments and coordinates with nursing for resources
• Operates a multi-line phone system and relays messages promptly
• Supports emergency codes and facility emergency plans as required
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance
• Complies with all policies and standards
