Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a health vocational program such as Patient Access.
• One year of experience in admitting or patient registration, or related duties.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assure complete and accurate patient admissions/registrations per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Obtain inpatient bed assignments and process admissions (arm banding, forms).
• Pre-admit scheduled patients to facilitate smooth admissions.
• Capture direct admit information and enter reservations in the system.
• Interview patient or representative to collect demographic, insurance and liability information.
• Perform eligibility verification and refer for financial assistance as needed.
