Job summary

Providence is seeking a Patient Admissions Coordinator to support on-site registration for both scheduled and unscheduled visits, collecting demographics, insurance information, and patient liability at the point of service. Under the direction of the PAS supervisor, you will complete financial clearance for assigned accounts and greet patients in a professional, respectful manner.

Our Revenue Cycle Business Services team values patient-focused, whole-person care.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration.
• 3 years of experience within Patient Access or business office setting.
• Experience with insurance eligibility systems.
• 3 years of utilization of medical terminology in job setting.
• Knowledge of medical billing codes.
• 1 year of knowledge of Epic Applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients during on-site registration for scheduled and unscheduled visits.
• Collect accurate demographic and insurance information and patient liability at the time of service.
• Perform financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts.
• Greet and serve patients in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner while ensuring compliance.

Under the direction of the PAS supervisor/manager, the Patient Access Representative is responsible for assisting patients during the on-site registration and arrival process for scheduled and unscheduled visits as well as completing financial clearance functions. This individual completes the registration for unscheduled visits by collecting accurate demographic information, insurance information, and collecting patient liability (if known) at the time of service. This individual is also responsible for financial clearance functions on assigned scheduled accounts. The Patient Access Representative greets and serves patients in a professional, friendly, and respectful manner to promote positive encounters. All information is gathered while adhering to regulation and compliance requirements and guidelines and is documented timely and accurately.

Preferred Qualifications:
